The "Falerio dei Colli Ascolani" is a dry white wine and it’s excellent as aperitif. His name derives by a town of the Roman empire, “Faleria”, today named “Falerone”. Curiosity: Polibio is a Latin poet and it is said that Annibale, while was arriving at Rome, stopped in Picenes aerea. He saw that his horses had problems and he ordered to care for them with the mature red wine…. According to “Plinio il Vecchio” the “Picenum” wines of the Marche territory were the wines with a mellow and flavoured taste!
Curiosity: The original book of the eighteenth century was kept by the family in a small museum by the “Distilleria Meletti”. (www.meletti.it). King Umberto 1st gives to Meletti Company the patent of “Supplier of the Royal House”.
