The "Teatro Ventidio Basso" of Ascoli Piceno (1840-1846). All the palace is made of travertine and the façade is of neoclassical style. The Theatre is located in front of “Chiostro Maggiore di San Francesco”, in the heart of the city center and at walking distance from the main square “Piazza del Popolo”. This is usually starting on a Thursday, continuing through Sunday and culminating on a "Fat" Tuesday, which represents the peak of such a festive celebration. The ability of the participants to extemporize hilarious and satiric gags, while rigorously dressed up, is the main contribution to the playful spirit which aims the crowd populating the whole City centre.
