La “Sindone” di Arquata del Tronto: In the Saint Francis Church at Arquata del Tronto The “Sindone” is conserved and exposed, just like the Sacred Sindone of Torino. This shroud is not a copy of the original but it is an “extract”, just as it is written on the cloth itself “EXTRACTUM AB ORIGINALI” , and keeps an infinitesimal part of the blood of Jesus. The shroud, which is a very important relic for the worshippers, was found inside a golden urn in a niche in the base of a wooden altar, when restoration works were being done in the church.
